‘Bar Rescue’ Host Partners with Fransmart to Launch New Franchise

Jon Taffer, host of the reality television show “Bar Rescue,” is opening a new franchised neighborhood tavern: Taffer’s Tavern. “A bar is a bar, but a tavern has soul,” he said.

Taffer partnered with Cuisine Solutions to bring its innovative sous vide cooking to Taffer’s Tavern, and also with Fransmart, a global franchiser. Fransmart took 5 Guys Burgers from a couple locations to 1,200 in a couple of years through franchising, Taffer pointed out.

Bringing sous vide to Taffer’s Tavern’s menu is key, Taffer said. He describes it as “very specialized, where food is cooking in its own juices and it’s cooked to exact temperature to provide consistency and quality.”

Taffer told Forbes he expects two of his popular entrées to be the au jus sandwich, a rare roast beef, and its 72-hour short ribs, which is slow-cooked.

“Jon knows a tavern is a key place where people gather to eat, drink and share stories that date back to the times of ancient Rome,” Fransmart said. “Taverns are known as a gathering place and a landmark that are a beacon of camaraderie for their communities.”

The first Taffer’s Tavern is expected to open in Alpharetta, Ga., later this fall.
