In these days of the coronavirus pandemic, people have new expectations when they stay in a hotel. At the top of that list is not contracting COVID-19 during their stay. The new Hotel Vie — which is set to open in Woodbridge, Ontario in 2023 with 261 guest suites and 54 luxury executive offices — says it is taking measures so that guests can sleep soundly, without such worries keeping them awake.

Recently, it invested in a new HVAC system that eliminates bacteria, including the COVID-19 virus. According to Hotel Vie, the system is 90% effective in capturing COVID-19 particles as small as approximately 0.1 micrometers in size and eliminating them. But even though the system captures the airborne viruses, the guests can still rest easy, the hotel says.

“All visitors to Hotel Vie can feel safe knowing we have invested in top technology to ensure a healthy visit.”

The system utilizes an additional purification process that produces an electric field that generates ions that act as a cleaning scrubbing agent and keep the air clean. “We have spent the last year masterfully crafting a one-of-a-kind stay,” declared Artan Mataj, the principal of Mataj Architects, which designed Hotel Vie.

“Our latest HVAC system is considered the gold standard in keeping air decontaminated,” he added. “All visitors to Hotel Vie can feel safe knowing we have invested in top technology to ensure a healthy visit.”
