Wyndham Ahmedabad Shela increases Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ presence in India to more than 4,000 hotel rooms.

After growing its reach to approximately 9,000 hotels in 90 countries, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is showing no signs of slowing down. Instead, the hotel franchising company has announced it is growing its presence in Gujarat, India, with the opening of the Wyndham Ahmedabad Shela, which has 65,000 square feet of meeting space and 34 meeting rooms.

In addition, the hotel features indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, a salon and a movie theater. “The Wyndham brand is recognized around the world for providing an upscale experience and our latest addition in Ahmedabad perfectly complements our strong brand portfolio in India, increasing our presence to over 4,000 hotel rooms now open and operating,” commented Nikhil Sharma, the regional director of Eurasia for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

“The Wyndham brand is recognized around the world for providing an upscale experience.”

“Our teams have executed 18 new franchise agreements in India and have helped our owners break ground on the construction of 11 of these hotels which are expected to open over the next two years, in addition to helping independent owners convert their hotels to the world’s best-known brands on the industry’s leading distribution and loyalty platform,” Sharma added.

The South Asian Travel Awards recently recognized Wyndham as one of the leading hospitality development companies in India. In addition, several Wyndham-branded properties received awards for achievements in their individual categories, “highlighting the company’s excellence and drive,” it adds.
